Conifer Cottage Accommodation
Adjacent to Kimmerston Riding Centre, with three bedrooms, one double and two twin (bedding provided free of charge); The sitting room has an open fire (coal also provided free of charge) with a beautiful view towards the Cheviot hills. There is a colour TV and a video recorder.
The kitchen has an electric cooker and microwave food processor and a washing machine. There is a large play area at the back of the cottage and for those sunny evenings there is a barbeque provided. There are lots of heaters in the cottage.
- All beds come with duvets and all bedding is provided at no extra cost - towels are not provided at Conifer.
- The cottage has storage heaters (no central heating).
- There is no public transport to or from Conifer Cottage. There is car parking at the back of the cottage.
- the key can be collected from the cottage opposite the stables.
- Milk groceries and newspapers are available from Milfield, open 7 days a week. There is a small Marks and Spencer and an Asda at Berwick, 14 miles away, or some very good shops in Wooler 7 miles away.
- The water supply at Conifer is from a private spring and the bins are collected on a Thursday
Local Area
The local vicinity has no shortage of good old-fashioned English pubs that have managed to avoid the "advantages" of modernisation. There are also many fine restaurants within a short drive of the cottages, whilst Tillmouth Park Hotel with its majestic grounds is perfect for that extra special evening. The Red lion Pub in Milfield is very popular, the thatched Black Bull pub at Etal is in a very pretty village and there is very good Italian food in Wooler at the Milan's.

Sightseeing
Conifer Cottage is situated on the country estate www.ford-and-etal.co.uk where you can find a host of attractions and activities including Etal Castle, Heatherslaw Light Railway, cycling, fishing Ford Castle and much more.
Holy Island is some 15 miles away. The very spectacular Bamburgh Castle is a twenty-minute drive, as is Seahouses Harbour from where boat trips around the Farne Islands bird sanctuary depart. The famous Alnwick Garden is now open to the public.
Walking
Whilst the Cheviot Hills offers many a challenging ten-mile hike, some guests are happy to stroll down to the river and merely enjoy the view. For organised walks visit www.shepherdswalks.co.uk.
Fishing
Good local, inexpensive fishing (within walking distance) on the River Till is always available and Salmon fishing on the famous waters of the Tweed, or any of its tributaries, can be arranged.
Golf
Bamburgh Castle Golf Course, described by the AA as one of the most beautiful courses in Britain, takes visitors all year round. There is also Doddington golf course only three miles away where it is as if you are on top of the world! There are also several other golf courses in the area.
Gliding

- Please note, Conifer Cottage bookings run from Saturday 3.00pm to Saturday 10.00am.
- Terms: a 50% deposit is payable on booking. The balance is due two weeks before arrival.
- Cheques payable to Mr Jeffreys.
- Please note we do not take credit cards.
- Short breaks are available at the competitive rate of £70 per night out of season
- minuimun of 2 nights unless you are riding
- This is very comepitive for 3 people or over and allows you to come and go as you wish even breakfast in the garden.
